Man-child doesn’t say too much, but he knows colors. We are still solidifying them and I’m really hoping with this practice he’ll start pairing words together like “red balloon” and “blue sock” because we’re a little behind in his speech. Here’s what we did this week.
Beading: We used cut up straws, beads and pipe cleaners all found at the dollar store. Even the bin they are in is from the dollar store. All we did was string the beads on the pipe cleaners. This was great for reviewing colors and for fine motor skills.
Since Man-child only just turned 2, I wasn’t sure how this would go. At first it seemed like it may be too hard, but he got the hang of it.
Then he got really into it. He start calling out every color he picked up. Then he started picking out just the red ones. That seems to be his favorite color.
He loved this activity that we’ve done it twice and it’ll probably happen again this week. That’s a win in my book!
Trucks: If you have a boy who loves trucks as much as this kid, then you have to get this book. He looks at it everyday. It’s what got us started with colors. We’ve had it for over a year and it’s still one of his favorites.
